HaEun's summary of Day 4...

Aha, so here's the last post for today... I'm almost in my pyjamas, getting ready to get to bed... or not(; haha(:

After that little 'disaster' of mine earlier, where my preoccupied mind kinda threw me out a little, resulting in flushing the loo... I 'strategically' planned my water usage for the evening... well, kind of anyway ;)

Using 200ml of water, I cleaned my teeth...
(also went to the loo and did NOT flush it ;)) - Yay!

Then, I used 100ml to rinse out a wash-bowl, which I then poured a mixture of hot & cold water, measuring to about 4litres altogether :-) Using this water, I washed my hair (without shampoo), and my feet too (using soap) :P By doing this, I attempt to be cleaner than I was today ;)

However, having had a chat with my parents just now, I am told that I should have at least used soap on my hair... there's a difference between using no or some soap when washing hair apparently... we'll see how my hair appears tomorrow though! As long as it doesn't look too umm, weird, then I won't mind at all ;)

More spots seemed to have appeared, thanks to the greasiness of the hair... hopefully putting it up in the coming days will solve the problem ;)

I actually feel slightly cleaner now than I previously did, although it's really not the same as having a proper shower :-) But hey, it's like when I had my first shower in like, ummm quite a long time :P in Uganda! Haha :-)  Except this time, water is available.. it's just my decision not to use it :P

Followed by washing my hair & feet, using a smaller wash-bowl, I poured 1.4L of hot water, and washed my socks/underwear, using the biodegradable soap :-) another 1L was used to rinse them all out :-) They're now on the radiator, and at least one pair of socks should hopefully be dry by tomorrow... otherwise no socks for me ;) Haha, it's like Uganda all over again... all this hand washing :') except, it's so much less dustier here than it is there, so it's kinda easy to wash clothes ;)

I think that's it for Day 4 water usage :-)

Soo, time for some calculations ;)

In yesterday's summary post, it was concluded that I have the following for today:
9 Free public toilet flushes ;)
My usual 10L allowance (inc. 1.2L for drinking)
PLUS 8.72L + 2.29L (for drinking)

Day 4 total water usage:
1 Free public toilet flush
15.35L + no drinking water
(Oops, definitely would've went over the limit there, had I not saved up! Only if I hadn't flushed the loo, I would be fine.... I guess this really shows how this one single act we do as part of our everyday lives, are the difference in having enough or not enough water for someone out there to live on...)

From the figures above, after calculations made, I seem to have the following left over:
8 Free public toilet flushes
2.17L (general use) + 3.49L (for drinking)

Therefore, for Day 5 (tomorrow), I have:
8 Free public toilet flushes - yay ;)
My usual 10L allowance (inc. 1.2L for drinking)
PLUS 2.17L + 3.49L (for drinking)

Haha... I really ought to drink more ;)

I guess that's the end for today :-)

Thanks for reading :-)

  1. I know it isn't very relevant to this post ... but can Clive and his friends become obese ???
    I think I've over-fed them a bit too much ...
