So I've been told... someone's been suffering from withdrawal symptoms of the lack of the posts in the blog today! :P I do sincerely apologies; saying that I didn't have time is probably a very bad excuse, but I thought I would leave it till later... and here I am now, with just over 2hours of Day 3 left!
This water challenge overall so far has been rather... interesting :) and made me think a lot!
Was in church today... and realised, no matter how much I smelled ;) (don't worry guys, I'll freshen up before school tomorrow... :P and for those at Church: I'm really sorry! Hopefully you would've seen this and known why... ;)) God still loves me lots and lots and lots - I'm so thankful for that! ;)
Also realised once again of how precious water really is! But more of that as this post goes along....
Day 3 - started off rather interestingly :-)
Woke up this morning (feeling blue... haha :') not really, but here you go, an insight to my year9 music classes!), anyhow - [looks at my record sheet for water usage today... pretty long!], used 100ml to wash my face and stuff(: You'll be glad to hear, my hair wasn't flicky today! :D
This was then followed by breakfast:
- Three cheese on toasts... yeh, shush, I was hungry :P (wow, this blog seems to be revealing the 'secret' of how much I eat at the same time :P oops!) which used no water ;) - my excuse for eating three really...
- 200ml milk (which doesn't count - yay!)
I then used 300ml in washing up (plate & mug :)).
300ml was then used to clean my teeth & to make my face appear clean ;)
Haha, also had a rather amusing conversation with my brother... He was saying how he would do the water challenge, but it would just be too hard for him and stuff... there were some amusing stuff being said, which I simply cannot remember! (Yeh, that's what you get when I'm trying to remember the stuff that happened this morning!)
Whilst doing this, I noticed that I had a spot on my face, near my right eye... meh! You know all the puberty stuff? Well, I never really had spots (yay!), except the occasional ones... and yh, today's the day I found out that one somehow appeared :P Probably because of lack of water & cleanness & hair washing to be honest! Might actually have to somehow 'wash' my hair tomorrow!
Moving on, went to church this morning :-) (super gluee :D awesome message!)
In terms of water usage: went to the loo & used 1 free public toilet flush (out of possible 10 ;)) and probably used about 400ml to wash my hand thoroughly (because I was to help with communion stuff :))... maybe less than that, but overestimation ftw! ;)
Next on my list is the grape juice/wine from communion, which to be honest, was a sip, so 10ml would probably do :-) and then I'll say about 30ml for my share of the washing up of the cup & the plates with refreshments, that I had a shortbread from after church :-) good estimation, don't you think?
After church, I came home, went to the loo, didn't flush it :P washed my hands, which was about 100ml :-)
Lunch:
- Rice (100ml, probably :P)
- & Korean stuff (which are all 'pre-prepared' stuff, and therefore required no water ;))
- 200ml of Korean tea :-)
- Chestnuts & prunes & pumpkin seeds...
- Fairtrade chocolate... ;) (from packaging :P) & tiny bit of korean snacks :P
In terms of washing up for my cutlery (bowl & chopsticks), 400ml was used, because it was all sticky and stuff :P I didn't use the spoon though, so at least there was one less object to wash-up! ;)
My lovely mummy washed up all the plates with Korean stuff & dried fruits etc. on it that we shared as a family (which isn't cheating by the way, because I put all the quantities of each stuff I was going to eat on my bowl before I ate them - my siblings can prove this! :P) and she and I actually measured how much we would use per person during washing up :) Turned out to be 200ml, but we all agreed that, it was that less because we did it using a measuring jug - not from a running tap! :-) Still, pretty useful for me to be honest ;)
Realised how much water we normally use in washing up everyday... especially when doing it in a running tap! Hygiene and staying clean etc. is really important, so washing dirty dishes is really important too... but there are people out there who don't even have clean water to drink :/
After lunch, I read for a bit... in french ;) and fell asleep... had a nap :-) which I'm not entirely sure was a good idea, seen as I've done limited revision this weekend! :P
Woke up (once again), cleaned teeth (300ml) :-) and then went to church again :-)
No water usage whilst at church, but when I returned home and went to the loo, my mind was so focused on saving water whilst washing hands (used antibacterial hand gel instead!), so I can wash my hair tonight or tomorrow morning, that I subconsciously flushed the loo... fail! Was pretty annoyed with myself for that (hence my facebook status), but ah well :-) I'll just have to focus better next time... goodbye 6litres, that I could've used elsewhere! :'( ...haha(:
Had a rather late tea(: which was basically Korean Kimchi pancakes - tastes reaaally nice, more than it sounds by the name :P No water was used in cooking but I had a bit of rice, so including that & washing-up for the stuff my mum used to cook with, about 200ml was used (for my share in the family ;)) Also had about 200ml of Korean tea & 100ml of green tea :-)
Because I'll probably have a toast for breakfast tomorrow, I didn't clean my plate spotlessly :-) and the mug didn't need that much cleaning either, so only 100ml was used in washing up... to make up for the 6litres lost obviously! :-)
Went to the loo, and 200ml was used to my hands :-) another lovely family member flushed the loo (obviously after they used it) so it's all good! :-)
I then used another 200ml to clean my teeth ;)
And now, here I am :-) about to get into my pyjamas...
I kinda realised how smelly I am... oops ;) it's okay, I'll be clean for tomorrow! It's only because, my outfit for today was basically what I wore on Friday, excluding the green t-shirt :-) - My body itself actually is fine - it's just the clothing! (I've been using deodorant, but haven't had any wetwipe washes, like Uganda :P) Pyjamas tonight is obviously going to be the same :-) Was going to wash my socks tonight too, but may have to leave that for tomorrow... maybe(:
So, time for some calculations...
At the end of Day 2, my water allowance for Day 3 was concluded to be like this:
10 Free public toilet flushes ;)
My usual 10L allowance (inc. 1.2L for drinking)
PLUS extra 8.85L + 1.6L (for drinking)
Today, I have used (Day 3 total water usage):
1 Free public toilet flush
8.93L + 0.51L (for drinking)

Therefore, from the allowance I had, I have the following left over:
9 Free public toilet flushes
8.72L (general use) + 2.29L (for drinking)
This means for Day 4, I have:
9 Free public toilet flushes ;)
My usual 10L allowance (inc. 1.2L for drinking)
PLUS 8.72L + 2.29L (for drinking)
YESS! Tomorrow will hopefully be a clean day(: but I guess you'll be the judge of that...
Rather glad I've saved up during Day 1 and 2 :-) it'll be very useful for Day 4 :-)
Thank-you so much, again, for the support(:
