Thought you may would like to know :-)
The rules:
• Each person has a daily allowance of 10 litres.
• You must allocate at least 1.2 litres of your daily allowance to drinking. A maximum of half of this quantity can be caffeinated or alcoholic drinks.
• Drinks that are mostly water-based (fizzy drinks, juices from concentrate etc) must be included in your ten-litre allowance.
• Litres can be saved up and rolled over.
• For any general water usage in your home (a dishwasher, washing machine, meals cooked by others that you eat), you must count your share of that use (eg in a family of four, a quarter of the usage).
• If you eat out, or have any takeaway meals during the week, you must still consider the water used in preparing and washing-up for that meal. You should assume around two litres per person, per meal (unless you can be sure of other figures).
• You will be given an allowance of ten free flushes per week that can only be used in public toilets (school, work, restaurant…). Ten flushes equates to two a day for the five days you are compelled to spend most of your time out of the home. (So allocate them carefullly ;))
• To ensure that you do not save water in a way that results in over-consumption the following week, you are allowed just three full outfits and one set of nightwear for the duration of the challenge. This includes underwear folks! You also have an allowance of just one set of crockery – one plate, one bowl, one mug and one knife, fork and spoon.
